Hands: a 4-H Week blanket and craft drive.
4-H stands for Head, Heart, Hands, and Health. To mark Hands during 4-H Week, Timeless Treasures is collecting homemade blankets and other home-crafted goodies for donation to hospitals, shelters, and community organizations across Waterloo Region.
If knitting or crocheting keeps your hands busy and healthy, Janice would love to help your work reach someone who can use it. Items are welcome now through 4-H Week, so there is plenty of time to start something new or finish a project already underway. Janice will make sure each donation goes to an organization that welcomes it.
Three organizations have confirmed they will accept donations, and each one needs something different:
- The Bridges, Cambridge Takes blankets and winter accessories from October. Supports men, so larger adult sizes are especially useful.
- YW Kitchener-Waterloo (YWKW) Supports women and children, so smaller sizes and children’s items are welcome here.
- Marillac Place, Kitchener A women’s shelter supporting young mothers and their babies, so baby blankets and infant sizes are especially needed.
Whatever you make, Janice will match it to the organization it suits best, and more recipients are being arranged.
